Christmas Time

I can not believe that Christmas is over! It goes by so fast. I guess all the anticipation is the best part. We had a great time with our family and friends over the holidays. My son got a Wii from Santa and we have all had a lot of fun playing with it. I will post some pictures below.

It seems this Fall was so busy with all the craft shows and activities going on. I am looking forward to a bit of a rest period in January before the Spring shows start up. I hope we can find a few of them to do.
Happy New Year!

Well the Holidays are here!

I love Christmas! It is my very favorite time of the year. Since it goes by so fast I try to cram everything I can into such a short time. We just got back from Holiday in the Park at Six Flags. It was very cold outside (42 degrees). I thought it was time to go home when I stopped being able to feel my toes! The house is finally decorated and picture ready I think. Most of my shopping is done now (at least until I go to the next store). I do not think I ever really get done shopping. I usually keep buying things right up to Christmas Eve! I still have a few things to wrap. I found new gift wrap outlet store today called Nowlin Trading. They had great bargins on gift wrap and bags.

I still have been very busy crafting even though we are done with our shows for this year and will post a few new pictures of my latest greatest items.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

What a busy time of the year this is...but I love it!

Fall is always but but it seems this year is "super" busy. After going to another craft show last weekend, this weekend was busy with more "Fall/Halloween" things! Friday night we went to Fright Fest at Six Flags and had a great time. Saturday was spent at Jordan's Fall Festival at his school. We had a great turnout and I think all the kids had a great time.

Back to the craft show last weekend though... We had another successful day the the Lindale Country Fest. Some items that sold at the last one did not do so well this time and some other items did great. So, I guess you never know what will do well from sale to sale. The ribbon halos and guardian angels ornaments were our top seller. We sold out of both! Yippee!!! Looks like found another hot seller to use at the next 3 shows. I made 12 more halos last night. They are time consuming but very easy to to make. I just do it while wathcing TV.
Our next show is the day after Halloween so we are gearing up to sell some Christmas items.
I will psot some pictures from Lindale today.

Pumpkins Pumpkins Everywhere!

Today we went to the pumpkin patch and saw lots of pumpkins. We took some pictures and had agreat time. My son took a friend and they did the maze, got their face painted, bounced inthe bounce houses and went on a hay ride.

I did all this after working last night until 2:30am! We had a special event at the hospital last night and I (was volunteered) worked from 9-2am. It was a lot of fun though!

Only 1 more week until the next cratf show so I have been busy finishing up a few things. I made 11 ribbon halo's, 10 book mark/clips and 3 more clip boards. I need to check the inventory and see what else needs to be done before next weekend. I am very excited to see what the next show will be like. I hope it is as fun and profitable as the first one.

I will post some pictures of some new things my mom has been working on along with my new items.

Our First Family Christmas Crop

Our family has started a tradition, where all the girls get together, each November to have a Christmas craft exchange. Each person has to bring enough supplies for each member to make a craft to take home. This will be our 4th year. So much fun and fellowship, not to mention good food.

Craft Show Results

Last weekend was our very first craft show and we did AWESOME! Other than it being really hot we had a great time and sold a lot of stuff. I think everyone was pleasantly surprised how well we did. Our journals and clipboards were our best sellers.
Our next sale is in Lindale, Texas on October 11th. We then have 3 more shows planned for November.
I sure hope our next show is as profitable as this one was. We learned a few things about how to set up our display and I feel the next time will be a bit easier.
I will post some pictures of our display later tonight.

A MUST have!

I forgot to mention in my earlier post. My new cordless glue gun totally ROCKS that I got for Christmas last year ! It is so much easier than having to worry about plugging it in. Thanks Cathy! I highly recommend you buying one if you ever use a glue gun.

Waiting for IKE

The wind is picking up here now. We are expecting to get a few inches of rain tomorrow. It will be a good day for "crafting". I hope to get lots done tomorrow and Sunday. I made a few new things today and I will post them tonight. I can not believe it is only 1 more week until the first craft show!

Stay dry...

Baskets, baskets and more baskets

All the baskets are finally done (I think). We finished painting 7 baskets tonight for the show. Today I decorated 12 more candy bars with assorted paper and designed the template for the hot cocoa packs. Hopefully I can finish these tomorrow after work. The show is coming faster than I can get everything done I feel like... but, hopefully everything will fall into place. I will post some things tomorrow. Mother is making stuff daily also.

More crafts finally finished

Tonight we completed 4 more clipboards which brings us to a grand total of 11 clipboards for our upcoming sale. My goal is to make a few things every single night. I hope to get lots finished this weekend since it is a 3 day weekend. Yippee!!!

We are leaving for Atlanta tomorrow morning. I plan on crafting and swimming all weekend. Jordan wants to add that we will be eating some good stuff too...

Tonight I used my 40% off entire purchase at Michael's without a problem. The cashier did not even blink an eye. I guess they have seen several of them this week.

That is all for tonight! Hugs...

1st Blog Post!!!

This is my very first post ever on a blog! I have been thinking about starting one for awhile and I finally decided to take the plunge. Since my mom and I have decided to start participating in some craft shows I wanted somewhere to keep up with what I have made. Tonight I made 5 altered clipboards. So far for our first show, I have made 34 altered journals, 10 paper bag books and 55 bags of pumpkin poop. I hope to get some more items made this weekend when we go to Atlanta.
Mike and Jordan have spent the last few nights spray painting baskets and building a display shelf for our show.
Our first show is September 20th and 21st in Gladewater, Texas. It is billed as the largest Arts & Craft Show in East Texas. Wish us luck!

I guess that is all for my first post....Later!
